Ko Ricker is a freelance writer based in LA who focuses primarily on culture and film. As a kid, she loved animated movies like Kiki’s Delivery Service, the original Wallace and Gromit shorts trilogy, and Robin Hood (1973). Ko’s obsession with the diverse medium never faded, and finally, after years of her friends wishing she would shut up about Miyazaki and Adventure Time, she discovered that she could get paid to share her passion for animation with the internet.
Ko is also a German to English translator. She counts herself lucky to have grown up learning German in a dual immersion setting, and credits this formative experience with her lifelong love of language and writing. (Along with her continued study of German, she has also taken classes in Spanish, Mandarin, French, and Korean, and is always looking to improve in each.) She has lived in Dresden, Germany and Linz, Austria and uses the cultural intelligence gained from each experience to help her provide accurate and beautiful German to English translations.
